The Companion Animal Assistance Program (CAAP) is a Stillwater, OK, based non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through spay/neuter assistance and education. To this end, we provide low cost spay and neuter services on an individual basis. We also work with Stillwater Animal Welfare by spaying/neutering animals being adopted from this facility. Finally, we sponsor spay/neuter mobile clinics four times a year.
Operation Catnip Stillwater is a non-profit organization providing high volume, no-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services to the free-roaming community cats of Stillwater, OK and all of OK through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is the humane, effective way to help reduce the free-roaming community cat overpopulation problem. TNR helps to reduce the number of unadoptable cats brought to the shelter each year which further aids in reducing the euthanasia rate each year.
Tiny Paws rescues neonatal kittens who have been orphaned or abandoned and would not survive without human intervention. Caring volunteers bottle feed the babies until they can eat on their own. After the kittens are healthy and reach the right age, they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and also have flea prevention treatments.
It is the policy of the Stillwater Police Department, through the Animal Welfare Division, to provide immediate response to emergencies concerning animals within the city limits to attempt apprehension, in a safe, humane manner, any dog, cat or other domestic animal or fowl that has become a nuisance, or is a threat or danger to any citizen in Stillwater. Stillwater animal welfare officers are also charged with the protection of animals from inhumane treatment in our community.
